Program Installation
Version #1 is designed to run under the MS Windows-XP operating system, suitable for the standard format of the terminal screen. There is no need for any MS Access software to be installed, and even if there is any, the TECA program will ignore it, because it is already supplied with the Runtime Access software. To be able to read and to modify the source code of TECA (contained in the file named teca.mdb), the presence of the MS Access 97 is necessary.
Version #2 is designed to run under the MS Windows-7 & 10 operating system, suitable for the wide format of the monitor screen. There is no need for any MS Access software to be installed, and even if there is any, then TECA program will ignore it, because it is supplied with the Runtime Access software. However, TECA must installed in the environment of WINDOWS-XP VIRTUAL MODE of Microsoft, that can be loaded (at no cost) from Internet by by clicking on http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/default.aspx. To be able to read and to modify the source code of TECA, the presence of the MS Access 97 is necessary.
Version #3 is designed to run under the MS Windows-7 & 10 operating system, suitable for the wide format of the monitor screen, but the presence of the MS ACCESS 2000 software is required. It is recommended to install this version also in the environment of WINDOWS-XP VIRTUAL MODE of MS Windows-7 (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/default.aspx), although this Version will run also in the standard mode, except that with some limitations. Namely, in the standard mode the WINDOWS-7 environment blocks display of graphs in TECA, but fortunately it allows for all graphs to be displayed and printed as reports. For TECA to run correctly under WINDOWS-10, the WINDOWS-XP VIRTUAL MODE environment is necessary, Moreover, in the standard mode to make the HELP SCREENS of TECA active, it is necessary to load from Internet the software Win 32 WinHelp API (at no cost) by clicking on http://www.download32.com/winhelp-api-software.html. Because the MS Access 2000 is already present, the source code of TECA (contained in the file named teca.mdb) can be easily read and modified, yet only within the environment of WINDOWS-XP VIRTUAL MODE.
Version #4 is designed to run under the MS Windows-7 & 10 operating system, suitable for the wide format of the monitor screen, but the presence of the MS ACCESS 2002 software is required. Because the MS Access 2002 is already present, the source code of TECA (contained in the file named teca.mdb) can be easily read and modified, yet only within the environment of WINDOWS-XP VIRTUAL MODE.
